Tested runtime: 69 minutes on 7.5 ah battery

Likes:

  • amazing cutting power on thick long grass
  • smart, power efficient mower monitors grass conditions and increases and decreases power on demand to maximize runtime
  • I got better than rated runtime of 69 minutes (although grass conditions were very thin and short) expect shorter runtimes with thicker longer grass conditions
  • much quieter than gasoline mowers
  • Built in lights make it easy to mow grass at night
  • easy to raise and lower cutting height
  • bag included (no need to rake up grass when done)
  • folds down and takes up very little space when stored
  • larger than average 21″ deck for a battery powered cordless mower
  • self propelled feature makes it easy to mow inclines

Dislikes:

  • lowest cutting height is a bit high for my tastes
  • front wheels do not pivot like the Worx 56V mower premium model for easy turning without lifting front wheels off the ground
  • battery power indicator is misleading in my testing, can show green light when the battery is low on power. A 3 or 4 bar battery fuel gauge would be a better representation of remaining battery power

Blower weight without battery: 4.81 lbs (2.18 kg)
5 Year Warranty
Retail: $199 kit / $129 baretool

Tested runtime: 19 minutes using 2.5 ah battery, mostly on high speed without turbo mode

Likes:

  • this thing blows (loads of blowing power)
  • rear exhaust design prevents loose clothing from being sucked in if you get the blower near your shirt or pants
  • blower extremely lightweight (without battery)
  • up to 75 minute runtime (on low speed)
  • much quieter than gasoline blowers

Dislikes:

  • must use turbo button to activate maximum 530 CFM blowing potential
  • 530 CFM turbo mode drains batteries quickly (up to 10 minute runtime when using turbo mode)
  • I would have preferred a single variable speed trigger (personal preference) instead of the on/off trigger with separate variable speed switch in front
  • variable speed switch is not ergonomically designed and can’t be reached with the same hand that is operating the tool. It’s too far away from the main trigger. You must use the other hand to adjust.
  • battery power indicator is misleading in my testing, can show green light when the battery is low on power. A 3 or 4 bar battery fuel gauge would be a better representation of remaining battery power

Ego Power+ 15″ String Trimmer

Professional .095” Dual Twist Line
No load speed: 5800 RPM
Weight without battery: 6.7 lbs (3.04 Kg)
Weather Resistant Construction (ipx4)
Bump Feed Head
49” Extended Aluminum Shaft
Retail: $199 kit w/ 2.5 battery / $179 kit w/2.0 battery / $129 baretool

Tested runtime: 25 minutes using 2.5 ah battery on high speed

Likes:

  • Impressive power, powered even through thick weeds
  • Although runtime was about average for a cordless string trimmer, runtime is good considering how much power it has
  • comfortable foam grip handle
  • bump feed head
  • dual line head uses pro 0.095″ line
  • quieter than gasoline mowers

Dislikes:

  • fixed head design doesn’t tilt like similar models to adjust cutting angle to compensate short users such as myself, or to cut underneath low hanging trees, bushes, and benches
  • 2 piece shaft shows a slight bit of flex, although unnoticeable when in use
  • inexperienced users might have a hard time using this as an edger without built in “training wheels”
  • adjusting the second handle requires a hex key (not tool less)
  • folding and unfolding the shaft requires a hex key (not tool less)
  • battery power indicator is misleading in my testing, can show green light when the battery is low on power. A 3 or 4 bar battery fuel gauge would be a better representation of remaining battery power
