It gives you the functionality of a trim router but cuts the cord and is powered by Ryobi 18V One+ batteries. It can take all Ryiobi 18V One+ batteries whether their the old nicad or the new lithium batteries.
Obviously it wont replace a do everything full size router but the Ryobi 18V Palm Router P600G is great for making edge profiles.
One thing to note is that this isn’t Ryobi’s first cordless 18V router and this model is the new version of the older blue model P600. There’s really nothing new or upgraded from the previous and is identical in all aspects except for the new Ryobi green color scheme and has the new “upgraded” Ryobi gripzone overmold. All the new gripzone overmold really is, is a fancy new rubber overmold grip with a more grippy texture pattern.
