Here’s a neat little table top laser engraver I stumbled on when browsing on Amazon. I thought it seemed interesting because of what it does on common materials like wood, plastic, leather, paper, and acrylic to burn and etch small designs.
I’ve been doing some small woodworking projects recently, well actually the same one but in multiples and was thinking about engraving some designs onto them to give as gifts for friends and family. I’ve also thought about doing inlay designs and engraving with a router, but I thought, wouldn’t it be cool to laser engrave?
So what does this model cost? It’s priced at around $125 and it’s a small table top laser engraver. It’s a small unit and according to one user, it has about a 1.5 x 1.5 inch engraving image size so it’s only useful for small laser imprints.
At this price point the laser is only powerful enough for light materials like wood, paper, leather, and plastics and it doesn’t have enough huevos for engraving metals or onto glass. You’ll have to look elsewhere if you plan on laser engraving into metal or glass.
These small laser engravers come bundled with image software to get you started on your next image engraving project. Just install the included software into your pc, plug the engraver into your PC, and get to work!
What do you guys think of this little machine? Of course I’d prefer a larger engraving working size but it’s not too bad for the price point. Let me know what you guys think of it in the comments section below.
Last thing I wanted to mention, is that this particular model seems to be a generic laser engraver and goes by different names some including HTPow and unbranded. Just wanted to throw that in there in case you see the same exact unit under a different name.
