2 New Makita 18V Heat Guns XGH01 & XGH02

Makita has just announced not one but two new heat guns for their 18V LXT system with the XGH01 & XGH02 models!

While Makita may have been late to the game with a cordless 18V heat gun, they made the wait worth it in my opinion by offering a model with a combination of features not found on other cordless heat guns. The XGH02 model is the one I’m talking about and it offers variable heat temperature and two fan modes of 4.2/7.1 cfm to select from! Max heat is up to 1022 ° F as well. Other features include an LED light, lock on switch for cruise control, a built in hook on the back, and comes with 4 nozzles including a concentrating nozzle, deflector nozzle, and two wide nozzles. It also appears they have a two stage safety switch although no wording to back this feature up.

The XGH01 model has all of the same core features minus the variable temp and 2 fan speeds but retains everything else that makes the XGH02 great. If anything the XGH01 model has the same top performance of the XGH02 model while the XGH02 model offers the ability to lower the fan speed and temperature making it more versatile.

As far as runtime is concerned, Makita states that both models can get up to 21 minutes of runtime at full temp and fan speed setting with a 6ah battery while the XGH02 model can get up to 30 minutes on its low setting with a 6ah battery.

I also like that both models come with hard cases to store them in even though they are currently sold as baretools!
