2021 Gen 2 Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1-1/8″ SDS Plus Rotary Hammer w/ ONE-KEY 2915-22

Milwaukee has announced a new second generation model of the M18 Fuel 1-1/8″ SDS Plus rotary hammer 2915-22 and now offers ONE-KEY functionality.

Milwaukee says their latest M18 Fuel SDS Plus 1-1/8″ rotary hammer is the fastest drilling and hardest hitting hammer in its class and according to them, it is 20% faster at drilling. This new 1-1/8″ rotary hammer is replacing the previous version, the 2715-22 model that came before it. Although the new model has less RPM and less BPM at 800 and 4,600 respectively, the impact energy is up to 3.6 ft-lb which is .3 more than the outgoing model it replaces.

More power isn’t the only upgrade as it also gets AUTOSTOP kickback control which is a nice safety feature that stops the motor to prevent user injury in case the bit binds in rebar or hard aggregate. It also gets ONE-KEY functionality so users can track and manage the tool through the ONE-KEY app.

And just like the previous model, it also features their AVS – anti-vibration system to reduce felt vibration and also has the 3 mode dial on top (now recessed) with hammer drilling, rotary only, and chipping (hammer only), along with the 4th bit rotation feature for use with chipping. You also get the side handle with depth rod. According to Milwaukee, the new rotary hammer has a runtime of up to (50) 5/8″x3″ holes per charge with a high output XC6.0ah battery.

Along with the new rotary hammer is a new matching dedicated dust extractor. It is the Milwaukee next generation M18 Fuel HAMMERVAC 1-1/8″ dedicated dust extractor. This Hammervac is a true dust extractor as it has a built in filter cleaning system which they dub “AUTOPULSE”. They say this is the only onboard dedicated dust extractor solution with auto filter system that meets OSHA Table 1 compliance for drilling up to 1-1/8″ in diameter and 8″ depth. This dust extractor maintains drilling speed and runtime of the rotary hammer while at the same time keeping dust exposure below the 25ug/m3 action level. The dust box is clear to allow the user to see the contents and know when it’s time to empty. This dust extractor also offers the ability to attach to a vacuum to remove dust contents in its dust box so you don’t have to dump it out, which limits the users exposure to harmful silica.

This new rotary hammer will be available Winter 2021 and will retail for $449 for the baretool – 2915-20, $699 for the kit – 2915-22, and $799 for the kit with Hammervac – 2915- 22DE.
