It was July last year 2019 that Makita introduced the first cordless drywall sander and now we learn that Dewalt is coming out with one as well under their 20V Max platform known as the Dewalt 20V XR brushless drywall sander. It was spotted thanks to Travis Collins @toolsbydesign instagram account for sharing!
No official info is available at the time of writing however Travis did provide some info. So far we know it has a brushless motor, a telescoping aluminum midsection and wireless tool control enabled to activate vacuum which sounds similar to Makita’s AWS wireless system and it’s reported to be available in North America sometime in 2020. It’s also pretty obvious this connects to a vacuum for dust free sanding.
We’re waiting for the official Dewalt press release info so check back soon for more info to come.
A big thanks to Cody Robertson for sharing!
