La Vergne, TN – The new JET ® 9” x 16” and 10” x 18” EVS Horizontal Bandsaws are built with durability, safety and ease of operation foremost in mind. They are equipped with electronic variable speed (EVS) control, an extra-large chip catch basin, quick positioning vise, carbide blade guides, large hand wheel and built-in gauge, plus other premium features.
These EVS horizontal bandsaws are the right choice for plant maintenance, welding and fabrication shops, agricultural facilities and light manufacturing (job shops). They primarily are designed to make consistent straight cuts and occasional angled cuts of ferrous and non-ferrous solid and tube stock.
The durable 9” x 16” and 10” x 18” horizontal bandsaws weigh 726 lbs. and 805 lbs., respectively, and are constructed of cast iron and heavy gauge steel throughout to dampen vibration and prevent deflection. They are driven by 1½ and 2 HP, TEFC, 3 phase motors, which input power of 115V.
A frequency inverter enables the EVS bandsaws to operate on 115V single phase input and provides a full range of blade speeds from 82 to 330 SFPM. EVS control boosts production speed and efficiency by enabling operators to quickly change blade speed at the turn of a dial. There’s no downtime needed to change speeds by the drive belts for cutting work pieces of different materials and shapes.
An exclusive, oversized chip catch basin is 39 percent larger than previous models. This feature reduces clean-up time by minimizing the amount of coolant overspray not captured in the basin.
For clamping of work pieces, the EVS bandsaws are equipped with a quick-positioning hydraulic vise with adjustable jaws. The vise swivels to 45°for making precise miter cuts.
For operator safety, the 1”, bi-metal blade is fully guarded, regardless of its position. Its carbide blade guides have parallel, double-row ball bearing support for quick, smooth action. A built-in, self-propelled blade brush helps prevent chip build-up and extends blade life. Coolant is distributed throughout the blade guide during operation.
Easy blade tensioning is provided by a large hand wheel and built-in gauge. Other features of the EVS bandsaws include fully adjustable downfeed with a separate on/off control valve; automatic shut-off after the cut; and adjustable material stop.
