Three New Makita 18V LXT Brushless High Torque Impact Wrenches

Makita just announced news of their latest high torque impact wrenches at this years STAFDA tradeshow. There is going to be 3 new 18V high torque impact wrenches coming out – a 1/2″ impact wrench XWT08M/Z , a 3/4″ impact wrench XWT07M/Z , and a 7/16″ hex chuck impact wrench XWT09T/Z . New tools is always great news but what’s interesting here is that all three are brushless impact wrenches and offer impressive torque numbers with 780 ft-lbs of torque and 1,250 ft-lbs breakaway torque for the 3/4″ model, and 740 ft-lbs torque and 1,180 ft-lbs breakaway torque for the 1/2″ and 7/16″ models.

Previously Makita’s high performance cordless 18V impact wrenches were in the 300+ ft-lbs torque territory as well as featuring brushed motors. These new models are sure to kick some serious butt along with being able to compete and one up the brushless competition from Dewalt and Milwaukee’s brushless high torque impact wrenches.

Other than torque numbers, not much else is known about them but we do know that they all feature 3 speeds electronically controlled and all feature electric brakes. These Makita brushless high 18V impact wrenches will be available in the USA in February 2016 so stay tuned.
