Harbor Freight adds a new cordless power tool to their 20V lineup with the Bauer 20V Cordless Handheld Paint Sprayer.

Harbor Freights in house Bauer brand has been growing nicely since its inception. And that includes the growing number of new 20v cordless tools as well. I’m glad they added a new cordless paint gun as these are always handy for a variety of projects.
Features:
The Bauer Cordless Sprayer runs on Bauer 20V batteries which are pretty inexpensive. It uses a vacuum seal system which allows it to spray paint even when it’s upside down. It has two sprayer speeds and can even spray paint and stains without thinning! HF says this Bauer sprayer uses Avanti technology, with Avanti being their other in house brand for paint spraying. This cordless paint sprayer even includes 2 Avanti spray tips that are reversible. An Avanti 514 medium viscosity tip and a 512 tip for thin to medium viscosity. Both are said to offer quality finishes. The tips can be rotated for horizontal and vertical spraying. This spray gun also features a quick prime system to start your projects sooner. And you can use reusable or disposable cup liners.
Pricing:
Name brands like Graco offer cordless paint sprayers upwards of $500+. So it is nice to see that Harbor Freight offers their Bauer cordless sprayer for hundreds less. The Bauer 20V cordless airless sprayer is priced at $199.99 as a baretool making it a much cheaper option than the Graco. At $199.99, it doesn’t exactly make it an impulse buy. Also keep in mind the price doesn’t include batteries or a charger. So make sure to pick up a set if needed. And it’s good to know that Bauer batteries and chargers are very inexpensive.
I did a quick check on Amazon to see what chinese no name brands were going for. Similar cordless sprayers were priced around $100, more or less. And they included batteries and chargers. I even found a Worx brand cordless sprayer with charger and battery kit for less than $200. At around $179.98. All of which make the Bauer a little pricey. Maybe the Bauer is better quality? I don’t know but Bauer’s included Avanti tips seem nice, but is it enough to justify the higher price point? I’ll leave that up to you. No doubt the new Bauer cordless sprayer is a great new addition to their line. But I just feel that the price is a bit higher than usual for something out of Harbor Freight. What do you guys think?
