Ridgid K-46 Cordless 18V SinkSnake Features:
The Ridgid brand as we know it is actually split up into separate parts. Their most popular tools are the ones found in Home Depot which include their 18V cordless power tools made by TTI (same makers of Ryobi and Milwaukee). Then there’s their more professional tools with more specialty plumbing tools. This drain snake is part of those tools. Even though it’s 18V, it’s actually a different cordless line. The 18V batteries which are slide pack lithium ion, are actually different from the usual Ridgid 18V cordless tools I write about on this website. Although I am not sure if they are compatible. I reached out to my contact that sent me this press release and will update this article with the answer.
This cordless handheld drain cleaner is powered by Ridgid 18V batteries so you can work smarter not harder. It’s designed to clear blockages in shower, sink, and tub drains. It comes equipped with a 5/16″ by 25 foot inner core cable and can be used to clear 3/4″ to 3 inch drain lines. This drainsnake is also compatible with 1/4″ and 3/8″ cable diameters up to 50 feet in length. You can also pair it with multiple cable tools which include dropheads, spades, and c-cutter augers for added convenience and versatility.
Features: Continued
It has 360 degree rotatable AUTOFEED that helps advance and retrieve the cable in forward and reverse rotations to help navigate pipes especially those difficult pipe bends. A cool feature is an integrated top mounted LED light to help in low light situations. A cable lock feature helps to improve cable handling when manually working blockages and the enclosed rotating drum houses the unused portion of cable to protect plumbing fixtures.
One very practical feature that this drain snake has is a flip out kickstand. It has several positions to elevate the drain snake to help elevate the tool to a better entry angle to the pipe. It’s one of those dead simple ideas that helps so much so you don’t break your back, or exhaust your arms when working so you don’t have to hold the weight of the tool the entire time. Again, this helps you work smarter, not harder.
It appears to launch this month February 2025 and is priced at around $440 as a baretool and around $550 as a kit with battery, charger, and gloves.
