Dewalt announces a new 20V nailer, the Dewalt 20V XR Concrete Nailer DCN890P2.

Initially Dewalt didn’t seem very focused with cordless nailers on their newer 20V cordless tool platform as they started off with only a cordless framing nailer. For the longest time the framing nailer was the only nailer they offered on 20V and later they followed up with a refreshed two speed framing nailer which didn’t offer users any variety. Then things changed when they launched the 16ga 20v nailer and the rest was history as they’ve been pumping out new cordless 20V nailers left and right. Dewalt has most basics covered when it comes to nailers and even some that aren’t common for battery powered nailers such as framing, metal connection, flooring nailers and now with this new concrete nailer.

Most concrete nailers are powder actuated or use fuel cartridges and that’s where the new Dewalt 20V XR Concrete Nailer DCN890P2 is different in that it too also uses a brushless electric motor powered solely by 20V lithium ion batteries just like their other 20V nailers. This means no more need to buy consumables to fuel or power the nail gun, as you just need to recharge your battery and you’re set.

A quick features rundown on the new concrete nailer, you can expect up to 600 nails per charge using the 5.0ah battery, it has two on board LED lights to help in low light, it has comparable application speed to gas concrete nailers, variable power settings, tool-free jam clearing, and a high capacity 33 nails magazine. Compatible with all DEWALT Cordless Concrete Nailer Pins (1/2 in. – 2-1/4 in.)
