If you’re wondering why it’s labeled as a 54V tool, that’s because this specific model is coming out in the UK and the Dewalt 60V Max batteries are essentially 54V batteries. They don’t take kindly to marketing jargon over in the UK and manufacturers are forced to label their tools in actual volts not max volts.
This is the second Dewalt Flexvolt 60V/54V rotary hammer that’s coming out and sits beside the already announced 1-9/16″ SDS Max model that I discussed earlier here, and this new model offers a smaller SDS Plus model.
The specs look good on this new model, most cordless SDS Plus rotary hammers on the market are 1″ or smaller but this one is a 1-1/8″ model sporting 3.5 joules of impact force which translates to about 2.58 ft lbs of impact force.
Feature’s include the usual 3 mode dial for rotary only, hammer drilling, and hammer only modes, also includes the side handle and depth rod. Advanced features are built in shocks to absorb vibrations above and below the handle. I also like that they include a belt clip, now there’s something you don’t see every day on rotary hammers. I wonder why other brands don’t include these as standard on cordless rotary hammers?
This will be available for sale in the UK for £699.98 and includes two Flexvolt 9.0ah batteries, side handle, charger, belt clip, and case.
