Dewalt 20V Max Hedge Trimmer DCHT820P1

Dewalt came out with a great line of 40V Max outdoor power equipment and soon after came out with a couple of great performing 20V Max outdoor power tools earlier this year. I reviewed the Dewalt 20V Max Blower and String Trimmers and they were both excellent 20V performers except there was one problem, those were the only 2 outdoor power tools available for the Dewalt 20V Max line at the time. I was hoping they would expand with additional 20V Max outdoor power tools and sure enough another 20V outdoor power tool was just spotted on the radar.

This new Dewalt 20V outdoor power tool is a new cordless 22″ hedge trimmer model name DCHT820 . This new model offers a high output motor that can cut branches up to 3/4″ thick and with a blade length of 22 inches.

So it’s great to see a third addition to the Dewalt 20V Max outdoor power tool line. So far all of Dewalt’s cordless outdoor power equipment have been brushless cordless power tools whether they be of the 40V or the 20V Max line but this new model doesn’t seem to be powered by a brushless motor. Since a brushless motor isn’t mentioned in any of it’s documentation I would assume it’s sporting a brushed motor. Not that it’s a bad thing as brushed cordless power tools still produce excellent performance and runtime.

This new cordless 20V Max hedge trimmer will be available as a baretool model DCHT820B with a retail price of $129 and as a kit with one XR 5.0 ah battery and charger model DCHT820P1 with a retail price of $199. I do apologize for bringing this to your attention and causing some of you guys to drool as according to Dewalt these will be available next year March 2016.
