Harbor Freight’s 20v max Earthquake XT high torque impact wrench was an instant success when it came out roughly 1 ½ years ago, and they obviously took notice of the success and they’ve now added 2 more high torque impact wrenches with a ½” drive extended anvil model and a ¾” drive model.
My thoughts: while I would prefer to see more tools added to the EarthQuake 20v line of tools, it is good to see more options in the high torque impact wrench category to suit different users better. The ½” drive with an extended anvil is better suited for removing lug nuts and bolt recessed in machinery, while the ¾” anvil model has a higher torque and is suited well for use with much larger sockets and fasteners. Both units feature brushed motors, variable speed trigger and rubber overmold for better ergonomics during extended use.

Am I mistaken that Harbor freight lists both the extended anvil and regular length anvil at 1200ft-lbs break away torque?
You are correct, all stats including torque are the same except for the length of the anvil and slightly additional weight due to the extended anvil.
Okay, in the article it listed the anvil version at 1200ft-lbs and the non-anvil at 1400ft-lbs.
