Hitachi Makes a Humonoid Robot called EMIEW3

Hitachi has previewed a new robot they’ve been working on over at their YouTube channel with a humanoid robot called EMIEW3.

The cute little robot can move about on it’s own and can speak and understand several languages. So far it’s uses are limited but it can provide concierge services such as greeting guests, answering questions and guiding people to a certain location even to the point to “walk” them to that location.

It has appendages such as legs and arms but it doesn’t walk like a human does because it rolls on wheels located on its feet. It can even stand it’s self up in the unlikely event that it tips over.

What do you guys think of this robot? It reminds me a lot of the Sony QRIO robot from the early 2000’s but that robot never made it into production stages.
