Milwaukee® Introduces the Fastest Cordless Tire Inflator: Top-Off a Car in Under 1 Minute!

MILWAUKEE, WI- Milwaukee Tool continues to deliver portable productivity by expanding the largest sub-compact system in the industry, the M12™ platform, with the new M12™ Compact Inflator. The fastest cordless tire inflator in the industry, the tool has the ability to top-off a car tire in under 1 minute*. Capable of completing demanding inflation applications such as car, LT truck, and compact equipment tires, the new inflator delivers fast, accurate, easy inflation with the portability to take anywhere.

“The variety of cordless tire inflators available today have, unfortunately, failed to deliver both the speed and range of capability required by users. These inflators are able to fill passenger tires, but are unable to efficiently tackle more demanding applications,” said Tom Simeone, VP of Product Management for Milwaukee Tool. ““Our industry-leading cordless technology allows the M12™ Compact Inflator to complete a wide range of applications from light truck tires (65-80 PSI) to compact equipment (10-80 PSI). As part of the M12™ system, this tool also has the advantage of being completely compatible with the wide range of sub-compact tools available on this platform.”

Rated to deliver over 120 PSI and built with a high efficiency motor and pump, the M12™ Compact Inflator delivers up to 5X the speed of fill on car and light truck tires, ** and can fill a light truck tire from flat to full on a single battery. The REDLINK Intelligence™ with TrueFill™ Auto Shut-Off Technology delivers highly accurate pressure, protects from overfill and overtemp, and automatically senses speed of fill to shut off at the desired PSI. Additionally, a back-lit LCD screen illuminates the digital gauge so users can more easily check the target and current pressure reading.

Weighing just over 3 lbs, the M12™ Compact Inflator is designed with an integrated handle so it can be transported nearly anywhere. A reinforced cage protects it from drops and impact, as well as inclement weather. The backside of the unit features a place to easily store the 26” hose and attachments, including a ball inflation needle, inflatable nozzle, and presta chuck.

The M12™ Compact Inflator’s all-brass chuck creates an easy and reliable connection to tires, preventing leaks. To counter shifting and movement during the filling process, the unit is built with an anti-vibration stand that keeps it in place throughout the duration.

Available April 2018, the new M12™ Compact Inflator joins the largest sub-compact system in the industry, the M12™ platform, now offering more than 90 professional cordless solutions focused on power, productivity, and portability.

Finally! After years of requests for this by many people they have listened. Might be a bit late for me though as I have swapped to Makita CXT and already bought Ryobis 18v inflator.

  • Jalopy_J says:

Wow, can’t believe somebody other than Ryobi/Craftsman finally made one. All the “pro” brands have said they won’t make a “garage” item because it hurts their image too much. I was recently switching cordless power tool brands and was pondering just using M12 for everything since the tools are more powerful than 18v tools were just a few years ago. The lack of an inflator was the reason I didn’t. I frequently need to air up tires at a race track where there isn’t air available since I don’t want to carry around a big air bubble. Wish I’d known this was coming! I still may have to pick this up if it really outperforms other cordless inflators. Will be interesting to compare it to the C3/One+ inflators.

    • Javier says:

I don’t see how having garage items would hurt their image. If anything it would satisfy needs many people have and keep them from jumping ship to another brand. I’m one of those and I bought the Ryobi 18V cordless inflator several years ago. Probably would have went M12 if they had one back then.

      • glenn says:

Not too long back a Milwaukee rep stated that they weren’t going to be a ‘me too’ brand and would just be staying true to their pro type tools. I suppose they realised they would have to release other tools that people want or get left behind. Hence the OPE and things like this.

Unfortunately tool companies still insist on keeping their upcoming tools releases something akin to a state secret and continue to stay tight lipped about anything forthcoming.

Perhaps if they were a bit more free with info and dropped hints etc or just outright said that tool type ‘x’ is coming soon, it would keep people with the brand and stop them from potentially jumping to another brand.

This release is a good case for that as it it not a completely new tool, it is simply their version of something that is alreay available from another brand.

Having your customers buying into another brand is not a good thing as, like myself, they might find they prefer the tools that another manufacturer sells.

        • Javier says:

In this industry you have to be a me too brand otherwise you stay seriously behind. With many critical gaps in a cordless power tool line will force others to jump ship if that customer needs them. For example, lets say someone wants to buy a cordless table saw or framing nailer, then you’d be forced to jump to the yellow team.
I have red tools, blue tools and yellow tools and even ego tools and I needed a cordless pole saw. Had to buy one from Ryobi since luckily I also have green tools. People will go to the brand that has them otherwise they get left behind.

          • glenn says:

I initially wasn’t going to buy one of these as I had already bought the Ryobi inflator but after seeing one in store, I impulse bought lol.

Early observations after a couple uses are that compared to the Ryobi, it is a little quieter, a little quicker and it doesn’t hop around all over the place when running.

          • Javier says:

Thanks for the input! Is that comparing it to the Ryobi large inflator or the smaller handheld one?
I have the larger Ryobi inflator that can also inflate HVLP items like air mattresses. It’s a good unit and serves my needs well.

          • glenn says:

Yes its the large one and I agree that it is a good unit. The only issue that I have had is the low pressure has has split despite only being used twice.
