We are one month away from Milwaukee releasing their M18 Fuel 3 in 1 backpack vacuum 0885-21HD in stores and online. I figured I’d use this time to bring you guys up to date with it’s features and specs.

As it’s name suggests, this vacuum is wearable like a backpack and we all know vacuums are known be loud however since this vacuum is only inches away from your ears, it has been tuned down to be quieter at 76 dB(A) that is said to be 3x quieter than other jobsite vacuums. Being their first brushless vacuum, this thing brings more power than their other vacs at a rated 55 CFM’s of suction and a rated 76″ water lift.
It’s capacity isn’t the biggest at only 1 gallon and luckily the tank is clear so you can see when it’s ready to be emptied. The filter is a HEPA filter for cleaner exhaust making sure not to recirculate fine dust back into the air.
The backpack vacuum has a strap harness that makes it comfy to be worn as a backpack but can also be removed if you plan on carrying this with your hand or placed on the floor. The vacuum can stand upright and has a carrying handle on its side for easy carrying.
The vacuum has two speed settings and if you get it as a kit, it includes one 9.0 ah battery that will allow the vacuum to run up to 40 minutes (on low of course) and up to 25 minutes on high. That’s not the best vacuum runtime I’ve seen but that means we can expect this thing to suck, in a good way.
It comes with the usual flooring and crevice nozzles and an extension but what makes the extension interesting is that it’s a telescoping extension tube making it easier to extend than using double or triple extensions.
The Milwaukee M18 Fuel 3 in 1 backpack vacuum will be priced at $299 for the baretool and $449 for the Kit with 9.0ah battery and rapid charger. It will be released next month September 2018.

It’s not a wet/dry vac – the product listing on Milwaukee’s website says “Dry vacuum” and the HEPA filter says it’s “Not to be cleaned with water or other moist cleaning agents.”
Hello Doresoom,
I’ve included a new picture above showing a gentleman using this Backpack Vac to pick up a liquid spill. Also the features and specs list (originally provided by Milwaukee through a press release) also describe it as having 76” Water Lift – all evidence of this having the ability to pick up liquids, hence the definition of a wet/dry vac.
However after you brought this discrepancy regarding their product page saying “dry vacuum” I will bring this to the attention of Milwaukee to get an answer.
Lets see what they say…
Water lift is just a measure of suction though, it’s used for dry vacuums that will never touch water.
They confirmed it’s only a dry vac so I updated the article and removed the wet/dry reference. Thanks
