Bosch has introduced three new cordless 12 volt power tools, all brushless, with the Bosch 12V Brushless 2 Speed Screwdriver GSB12V-300HXN , the 12V brushless Drill/Driver GSR12V-300N , and the 12V brushless Hammer Drill GSB12V-300N .

While these are three different tools, they all share the same drivetrain with a 12 volt brushless motor that delivers 300 in-lbs torque and all have the same 2 speed gearbox that provides 0-460 / 0-1,750 no load RPM. All three also have the same 20+1 torque collar. The differentiating factor is the chuck and ability as both the drill and hammer drill use a 3/8″ plastic chuck while the screwdriver uses a 1/4″ hex chuck. All can be used as suitable drill/drivers with the hammer drill having the additional mode for hammer drilling.
The screwdriver is perfect at screwdriving with a shorter body at only 5 inches in length since it does not have a drill chuck to add length and can fit in tighter areas than the other two can. The special 1/4″ hex chuck means it can only accept driving and drilling bits with a quick connect hex end suitable, like those used on impact drivers for example. It will not accept round shank bits without an adapter. It may be called a screwdriver but don’t let it’s name fool you into thinking it’s not a capable drill as it has the same 300 in-lbs torque as the other two.
- Efficient screwdriver design – has pro torque in a 1/4 In. Hex screwdriver at only 1.3 Lbs. (tool only, not including battery)
- Brushless motor – delivers 300 In.-Lbs. of torque and a max speed of 1,750 rpm for outstanding performance
- Compact housing – features a head length of only 5.0 In. and a weight of only 1.3 Lbs. (tool only, not including battery)
- Two-speed transmission – provides a high-power setting at 0-460 rpm and a high-speed setting at 1,750 rpm
- Precision 20+1 clutch settings – allows for accurate torque settings for less fastener damage
- Quick-change 1/4 In. hex drive chuck – provides enhanced bit grip and fast bit changes
- LED light – illuminates dark work areas effectively
The drill/driver has a 3/8″ chuck which helps to grip any sort of bit, round or hex making it the ideal all rounder. It’s chuck does make it a little longer than the screwdriver however it’s still very compact coming in at 6 inches in length making it shorter in length than even Ridgid’s puny 18V sub compact drill!
- Efficient drill/driver design – provides pro torque in a 3/8 In. drill/driver at only 1.6 Lbs. (tool only, not including battery)
- EC Brushless motor – delivers 300 In.-Lbs. of torque and a max speed of 1,750 rpm for outstanding performance
- Compact housing – features a head length of only 6.0 In. and a weight of only 1.6 Lbs. (tool only, not including battery)
- Two-speed transmission – provides a high-power setting at 0-460 rpm and a high-speed setting at 1,750 rpm
- Precision 20+1 clutch settings – allows for accurate torque settings for less fastener damage
- Durable three-jaw keyless chuck – delivers tool durability and bit retention in a 3/8 In. drill/driver
- LED light – illuminates dark work areas effectively
The hammer drill is every bit as good as the drill driver but with more as it can also hammer drill making it the one to go for if you ever need to drill into concrete. What’s slick about their hammer drill is that it includes a separate mode collar, something that was considered a premium feature years ago but recently ditched by other brands (I’m looking at you Dewalt and Milwaukee) to keep their drills as compact as possible. It’s nice to see Bosch didn’t go this route with their hammer drill. It does add a bit of length bumping it up to 6.7 inches in length but it’s still a tiny drill, or hammer drill.
- Efficient design – provides pro torque in a 3/8 In. hammer drill/driver at only 1.8 Lbs. (tool only, not including battery)
- Brushless motor – delivers 300 In.-Lbs. of torque and a max speed of 1,750 rpm for outstanding performance
- Hammer drilling – provides 26,250 bpm, ideal for drilling in masonry and brick
- Compact housing – features a head length of only 6.7 In. and a weight of only 1.8 Lbs. (tool only, not including battery)
- Two-speed transmission – provides a high-power setting at 0-460 rpm and a high-speed setting at 1,750 rpm
- Precision 20+1 clutch settings – allows for accurate torque settings for less fastener damage
- Durable three-jaw keyless chuck – delivers tool durability in a 3/8 In. hammer drill/driver
- LED light – illuminates dark work areas effectively
