New Ryobi 18V ONE+ Automotive Cordless Power Tools

Ryobi has just announced several new products and some of them are new automotive cordless 18V power tools. These include a new brushless 4 mode 1/2″ high torque impact wrench, 2 brushless extended reach ratchet wrenches, a brushless compact 1/4″ right angle die grinder, and a 3″ variable speed detail polisher/sander! The die grinder and detail polisher are scheduled to launch in August 2021 while the other products are scheduled to launch October 2021.

Ryobi 18V One+ HP Brushless 4 Mode 1/2″ High Torque Impact Wrench PBLIW01

Every recent year, it seems Ryobi continues to step its game up and this year is no different as they are offering new tools with improved features and performance. This new high torque impact wrench is one of those examples. Previously you would have to go to a pro brand if you wanted a cordless impact wrench with crazy high torque but no longer as Ryobi now has a high torque impact wrench of its own with the PBLIW01 model. It features up to 1,170 ft-lbs of breakaway torque and up to 700 ft-lbs fastening torque to its 1/2″ friction ring anvil. It has many modern amenities such as a brushless motor and 4 mode control with the usual three speeds plus a 4th auto mode that prevents overtightening in forward and controlled removal in reverse so you don’t drop your nuts by accident. It also has the much sought after tri-beam LED system for less shadows in dark spaces and comes with a robust die cast metal gear case. It will launch in October 2021 for $199 as a tool only.

Ryobi 18V ONE+ HP Brushless 3/8″ Extended Reach Ratchet PBLRC25

Last year Ryobi launched two new cordless ratchets. This year they launched another two ratchets (3/8″ & 1/4″) with two significant features, an extended reach handle and brushless motor for more power! This 3/8″ ratchet has up to 55 ft-lbs of torque and 230 RPM. As you can see in the image above the head is extended for greater reach in those hard to reach spaces. There are some carry over features from last years models such as the 4 position head which can rotate and lock into 4 positions to help the user in awkward situations. There are dual LED’s for more illuminations and the trigger is a paddle trigger to accommodate multiple fingers. This new ratchet will launch in October 2021 for $159 as a baretool.

Ryobi 18V ONE+ HP Compact Brushless 1/4″ Right Angle Die Grinder PSBDG01

Continuing with the Automotive theme is a cordless right angle die grinder. The shape is interesting that while it is true that it’s a right angle die grinder, the shape is more of a pistol grip tool and resembles the more traditional look of an impact driver. What makes it stand out as a die grinder is the 1/4″ die grinder collet and paddle trigger. Its brushless motor powers the tool with up to 22,000 RPM and the tool features 4 mode speed control with a button panel on the base of the tool. According to Ryobi, this battery powered die grinder is said to offer twice the power compared to a pneumatic die grinder. There is an onboard spindle lock and single wrench to help with accessory changes. This tool is scheduled to launch August 2021 for $149 as a baretool.

Ryobi 18V One+ 3″ Variable Speed Detail Polisher/Sander PBF102

This new Ryobi detail polisher/sander stands out from the others in this group because it is the only one not part of the ONE+ HP Brushless line as it’s a brushed motor power tool. Nonetheless a great addition to Ryobi’s cordless 18V line. This detail polisher and sander is great for working small sections especially where larger units can’t fit into, hence the detail part of the name. Its brushed motor has two speeds with up to 2,800 RPM which is good for polishing and up to 7,800 RPM which is good for sanding. Ryobi says the runtime is good for up to 60 minutes with a 9ah battery. An LED is equipped to help in low light and accessory changes are done tool free and has an onboard spindle lock to lock for accessory changes. This detail polisher/sander will launch in August 2021 for $129 as a baretool.
