Over here in California we have severe watering restrictions because of the on-going water draught. This means that many lawns have turned green due to less watering. A news clip from CBS Sacramento titled “Green lawns without water” shows of a solution to turn those brown lawns green without the use of water. How do they do this? They paint them green!
This may seem like a wacky idea but this is a service that’s been offered by specialized companies. They use non toxic paint made up of stone pigments and oil that wont harm kids or pets. The paint can last up to six weeks depending on how often the grass gets cut. People that have seen these painted lawns can’t tell the difference.
They say that painting lawns green is a normal practice for golf courses to keep areas that don’t receive much water green.
What do you guys think?
