Ridgid 18V Brushless 15 Gauge Angled Finish Nailer R09899K – Features

Ridgid 18V Brushless 15 Gauge Angled Finish Nailer R09899K

Ridgid is no stranger to cordless nailers has quite the assortment. Though if you were looking for a Ridgid branded 15 gauge nailer that also powered by their batteries, you’d have to travel back in time to 2012 – over 12 years ago! That’s when they last created a 15 gauge cordless nailer. That model has long been history however it’s good to see Ridgid create another model today.

Technology is way better than what it was back then, where cordless tools lagged far behind corded tools. Cordless tools back then could work but didn’t have the huevos to inspire confidence. They were used because of cordless convenience. Nowadays though things are much different as many pro brand power tools best offerings can not only hang with corded tools in the performance department, occasionally they have the edge in performance.

Ridgid’s earlier nailers were good though they did have to ramp up their motors before firing nails. In my opinion the process was still very fast and never did I feel like it slowed me down too much but they weren’t instant nail fires like you’d find on pneumatic nailers. Fast forward to today, and this latest Ridgid nailer borrows from sister brand Milwaukee’s tech where this new nailer doesn’t have to ramp up. It fires instantly. It’s fast enough to drive up to 3 nails per second and can even get up to 1,425 nails per charge with a 4ah Max Output battery.

This model features what Ridgid calls CLEAN DRIVE technology which they say helps drive nails flush at any angle, reduces jams, eliminates MDF trim blowouts, and doesn’t leave driver blade marks.

The original Ridgid 18V 15 gauge nailer had old brushed motor tech, now this new model has a brushless motor for mo’ powa’ and better efficiency. And as you can see by the angled magazine, this is an angled nailer. This makes it easier to lay nails at an angle.

Inside the handle area is where you’ll find the the mode select switch to choose between single fire and bump fire modes. Other features include a no-mar tip, depth of drive adjustment dial, LED light, dryfire lockout, tool-free jam release, and handy belt clip.
