Ridgid just came out with a new cordless 18V drywall screwdriver and it’s brushless! The news doesn’t end there as it also comes bundled with a collated magazine attachment as a complete kit with two compact 2.0 ah batteries and charger all for $199. Good to see the collated magazine attachment is included to make repeated fastening easier and quicker.
Just like it’s TTI siblings from Milwaukee and Ryobi, the Ridgid drywall screwdriver too has push to drive technology so that when set engages the motor only when you press to drive each screw. This means less operating noise and longer runtime as the motor is only used when needed. There’s also a lock on button to facilitate repeated fastening. Also interesting is that this tool also includes the signature GenX5 grip light which I thought Ridgid and AEG were phasing out. I see they are still breathing some life into this feature.
At the time of writing, this screwdriver is unavailable but it should be available soon. I don’t have an ETA but expect it shortly.
A big thanks to Joshua B. for spotting this tool!

Does the collated attachment work with they Milwaukee or Ryobi version of this tool?
I didn’t see any mention of cross compatibility in the documentation.
