Ridgid R860443 Octane 18v Brushless Compact Trim Router

As per the recent trend, Ridgid has been upgrading many of their Gen5X brushless tools to their new Octane line, which boasts more power and better runtime under heavier loads when paired with Octane batteries. The latest edition to the Octane family of tools is the R860443 Octane 18v brushless ¼” compact trim router.

My thoughts: Ridgid has been releasing a nice steady stream of tools to their Octane line, each with excellent performance and very competitive pricing. The new Octane router appears to be no different than other releases, being that it achieves higher specs while maintaining the price point of the previous brushless model. In comparison to the previous model, the design looks almost identical, but the new model does have a slightly different color scheme, and boasts more power. The new model features a soft start brushless motor, Octane communication for more power under heavy loads, up to 15% more power over the previous model, and an included vacuum attachment that will fit 1 ¼” and 1 ⅞” vacuum hoses. Overall I’m happy to see more performance and still hitting an excellent price point.

Scheduled to launch June 2019 for $129 although these have already been spotted on HD at the time of writing.

Wonder if we will be able to buy the dust attachment and it fit the existing cordless router. All that it is missing

I’ll reach out to Ridgid and see what they say.

Ok I heard back from Ridgid regarding the vac attachment for the original model.
This is what they said in reply:
“Vac attachment./ No immediate accessory plans but it will be available as a replacement part about 6 months down the road.”

So it appears it will be available as a replacement part only in about half a year from now.

Thanks for checking. At least it will fit unlike the dust attachment for the Octane circular saw. I can wait 6 months, just wanted to make sure it was compatible.

I just looked at the Ridgid parts site and couldn’t find any parts for the Octane router. Seems like they should be available by now… And thanks for looking into this. Would be amazing to get dust collection on the trim router w/ out having to buy the Octane version.

Good question. I have the current router. While I think it is great, it really makes a mess.
