Ryobi 18V Whisper Series 7.5 Inch Bucket Top Misting Fan
Ryobi loves their misting fans, we know since this is their forth misting fan if my count is correct. Their first was the Arctic Cove model that ran off Ryobi Batteries. Then they came out with a Ryobi branded model that looked like it was based on the Arctic Cove model. They also made an air cannon version of the misting fan. This latest version, which I’ll call model 4.0, is basically a redesign of the originals to modernize it for 2023.
Ryobi 18V Whisper Series 7.5 Inch Bucket Top Misting Fan – Features
This fan has the ability to spray a mist of H2o. The bottom of the unit is where all the magic happens. It can draw water in two ways. From a built in pump and siphon hose or a you can plug a garden hose directly with the included hose adaptor. On board storage is there for both hoses.
It has the ability to sit on a Home Depot 5 gallon bucket full of water. It can draw water using its internal pump and siphon hose. This allows you to have the ability to mist and cool down just about anywhere. Even when far from a source of water. Perfect for you next outing in the summer.
Buckets will eventually need to be replaced with fresh water to keep on spraying. You can always hook up to a garden hose so you can keep spraying without letup.
The above image shows the onboard controls. This is similar to the originals with two sealed toggle switches. One to operate the fan, the other for the misting function.
Each function has two speed settings, high and low. They do provide some specs for the fan output. Fan air velocity in FPM (feet per minute is 840/470. Air volume is 670/340 CFM. Ryobi says you can expect up to 14 feet of misting coverage.
At the rear is where we find the battery compartment. It is sealed to protect your battery from the elements and overspray.

This battery powered misting fan can get over 5 hours of continuous misting runtime. They do not mention at what combination of settings or which battery they used to get runtime figures. My guess is probably at low settings for the fan and pump with a 1.5ah battery as that’s the battery this comes with as a kit.

What is the largest battery that can be used in this Ryobi 7 5″ bucket misting fan. For long camping trips, the original 1.5ah battery doesn’t last long enough. Thank you. Mike
Looks like a 4.0ah should fit. A 6.0 might fit if it is the same size as a 4.0ah. But I don’t know what is the largest that could fit.
9.0ah Ryobi 18V batteries do exist but they are huge so if I were you and needed to know the max size battery that fits, I would contact Ryobi directly for the answer.
