Ryobi has upgraded their tried and true brushed 40v attachment capable powerhead to a new brushless unit that’s sure to provide users with more power and better runtimes.
My thoughts:
Ryobi has had their RY40225 40v attachment capable power head on the market for several years now, but apparently it wasn’t good enough so they upgraded it with a brushless motor for better performance, longer motor life, and longer runtimes. It slightly resembles their 18v brushless string trimmer in the overall shape, but this unit should have much better performance and the ability to use different attachments is a big advantage.

I was given a tester set of Ryobi Expand-It products and overall I really like them. I had been using the 18v line prior which was great when being able to use the same battery platform. There are a few components like the jet blower that feel forced though. Overall, the power and better run time are a great upgrade from what I’ve used!
