A new Ryobi 12V Cordless Reciprocating Saw has been spotted in Europe, model RRS12011L
Over in the Europe, Ryobi has a different 12V line than the one here in the USA. The one in Europe uses pod style batteries like the ones that Ridgid and Milwaukee use for their 12V tools.
TTI who makes Ryobi tools also makes Milwaukee tools and it’s no surprise the new 12V recip saw from Ryobi looks very similar in overall design to the Milwaukee 12V Hackzall. It’s not identical, as there’s a few cosmetic differences but very similar in shape.
It uses regular recip saw blades and Ryobi markets this tool as a 2-1 design so you may use it as a regular reciprocating saw or as a jigsaw – although with regular recip saw blades. It also has a built in fuel gauge to show you remaining battery charge.
It’s a neat tool, but we probably wont be seeing this model here in the USA because our Ryobi 12V tools use different style batteries, different shape altogether.
