Ever wonder how stamped concrete driveways are done? Most of the time the design on concrete driveways is done with templates that are stamped into the driveway before the concrete sets. In the video below, we view another way of creating stamped concrete driveways with the use of a stencil. It’s actually pretty interesting as the concrete slab is done first, a top coat is applied over the concrete slab. Then a thin stencil pattern is rolled out and applied on top. A second top coat is applied over the stencil and the stencil is removed before the top coat hardens completely. The video skips over the clean up of mess left over from removing the stencil but the final product looks amazing. They will need to add a penetrating concrete sealer in order to protect it against damage from water and general wear and tear.
