A random orbital polisher or DA (dual action) polisher work great paint correction using cutting compounds and also to polish paint surfaces with ease.

The two new M18 Fuel random orbital polisher models are not rehashes of the previous model but are new models. Besides having the dual action mechanism which allows the pad to orbit as it spins, they’ve improved upon the original model. First is more speed as it goes from 2,650-5,100 RPM and the rear of the tool has more clearance as they’ve turned the battery holder sideways which allows more than 2″ of clearance away from the paint surface for a reduced chance of paint and surface damage. Since these are cordless, you wont have to fight with a cord as you work your way around the car.

As far as performance is concerned, Milwaukee claims these have enough performance to be the first true corded replacements for a DA polisher. They also say that these random orbital polishers offer more power and control than other cordless models on the market.

Although both models are very similar there are a few key differences. The 15mm model is the one that can fit in slightly smaller areas for better details and the 21mm model offers more coverage to cover more area quicker and thus get done quicker. The 15mm model has a 15mm orbit diameter of 15mm and a backing plate size of 5 inches and has an RPM range of 2,650-5,100 whereas the 21mm model has a 21mm orbit diameter, backing plate size of 6 inches, and a slightly slower RPM range of 2,400-4,500 RPM.

Milwaukee says that both units offer low levels of noise and vibration and thus decrease user fatigue and make working with them more comfortable for longer. As far as runtime is concerned, they are rated to run for as much as 53 minutes of polishing time and up to 20 minutes of heavy cutting and paint correction with a 6.0ah battery.

The 15mm model starts out at $299 as a baretool and $529 as a kit. The 21mm model starts out at $329 as a baretool and $559 as a kit and both models are stated to launch April 2022.
