Ryobi has been quite busy as of late with their 40V OPE system and they have just announced 6 new powered snow removal tools with 4 new 40V snow blowers and 2 new power snow shovels! They are all expected to launch at the Home Depot in Fall 2021.

The Ryobi 40V HP Brushless 24″ Two-Stage Snow Blower RY40870 sits at the top of the range of the 6 new powered snow removers with power to clear a path 24″ wide and up to 21″ tall. A strong brushless motor makes quick work of this and also allows for variable speed finesse. The metal chute allows you angle it 180 degrees and can throw snow up to 55′ away and the chute lever allows you to control where you want snow to blow. Is the weather too cold to clear away snow? Ryobi’s got a solution for you with heated hand grips so you can say no to frostbite. The bundled charger isn’t a fast charger and the HD listing says you can expect a three hour charge time per battery. It too offers a strong brushless motor that allows a path clearing of 21 inches wide and 13 inches tall and offers variable speed finesse. The 180 degree directional chute chucks snow up to 35 feet away. The battery bay has 2 active battery ports so you can fit up to 2 batteries at a time for additional runtime so you can keep on working and two larger 7.5ah batteries come included as a kit. These are Ryobi’s largest 40V batteries at the time of writing. Fortunately this whisper series model comes bundled with a rapid charger for faster charging.. Being a battery powered tool, it offers easy push button starting and also features a wide LED light bar in front for increased visibility in low light.

Ryobi 40V HP Brushless 18″ Snow Blower RY40890VNM
Of all of the 4 new 40V snow blowers, the RY40890VNM is the smallest of the bunch and can clear a path 18 inches wide and 10 inches tall all thanks to its powerful brushless motor. Just like the other models, it offers push button starting and has a 180 degree directional dust chute and this model can throw snow up to 25 feet away. The battery bay only accepts a single battery and a 6ah battery is included along with a quick charger. It doesn’t have the wide LED light bar like the above models but it does include an LED headlight to help in low light.

The last two models are 40V power snow shovels and both offer 12″ width and 6″ tall snow clearing. Both come with a single 4ah battery and charger and are powered by a brushless motor. Both models are also Expand-it models with a powered base and an expand-it attachment snow blower head. This RY408120VNM model seems to be the better of the two models in the fact that it has two speeds in addition to its variable speed trigger and can throw snow a little bit further than the other snow shovel model at up to 25 feet away.

The two 40V power snow shovels both offer 12″ width and 6″ tall snow clearing. Both come with a single 4ah battery and charger and are powered by a brushless motor. Both models are also Expand-it models with a powered base and an expand-it attachment snow blower head. This RY408110VNM model seems to be the lessor of the two models in the fact that it has a single speed with variable speed trigger and can throw snow a little less further than the other snow shovel model at up to 22 feet away.
