Makita is no stranger to 36v circular saws and they just released another X2 18v saw which uses two 18v batteries to make 36v and get better performance while still maintaining backwards compatibility with the rest of their 18v LXT line. The new XSH06 is I believe Makita’s 3rd 7-¼” circular saw however this is only the second to feature a brushless motor. With 36v and brushless tech, we can expect lots of power and excellent runtime from this saw.
My thoughts: This new saw from Makita looks to be more compact than their rear handle brushless circular saw, which some users may prefer. It also features the blade on the right side as opposed to the left side on the rear handle model so this will be potentially better suited for left handed users. With an impressive 6,000 no load rpm, a full size 7 ¼” blade, and an attachable vacuum port, this unit should be a good fit for anyone needing a powerful saw with great runtime and is already in the Makita battery line. This unit also has impressive runtime and Makita claims this saw can do 610 cross cuts through 2×4 on a single 5.0 x2 battery charge.
A big thanks goes out to Cody Robertson for spotting this and sending word over!

The design reminds me a lot of the new black “sub compact” 18V 6-1/2″ brushless model https://toolcraze.net/makita-xsh04zb-18v-sub-compact-6-1-2-brushless-circular-saw/
I bet the XSH06z is going to be a great upgrade to the original X2 circular saw, the XSH01z and good to see the new model has an LED light to illuminate the cut line and double fuel gauges
