Makita launches a new cordless brushless X2 vac with the XCV16ZX X2 18V 36V Brushless 4 Gallon HEPA Filter Dry Dust Extractor with AWS.
The XCV16ZX vac is very much like the model that preceded it, the XCV08Z, in every way such as the same strong 74 CFM suction, uses two 18V Makita batteries to pump out 36 volts and features AWS which is their auto start wireless technology that runs the vac automatically when the tool is engaged when paired with a compatible AWS tool and 4 castors to tug along. The biggest difference is that the new XCV16ZX model doubles the tank capacity to 4 gallons which is up from 2.1 gallon on the model before it.
What’s great about these Makita brushless X2 vacs, this new model and previous models are that they are quieter at 66 db operating decibels thanks to the use of sound absorbing materials around the motor housing. As far as runtime is concerned, you can get up to 75 minutes of runtime on low speed or up to 40 minutes on high speed using a pair of 5.0’s which is pretty good.
The new dust extractor vac is available now at select retailers and has been seen priced at $553.
