These are very similar to the original Milwaukee M12 Fuel ratchets but with a slim head profile with an extended neck that gives users the longest reach in tight spaces and because they are Fuel branded models, they feature their powerful Powerstate brushless motor. The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor delivers up to 200 RPM and 55 ft-lbs (for the M12 FUEL 3/8” Ratchet) and up to 250 RPM and up to 40 ft-lbs (for the M12 FUEL 1/4″ Ratchet), ensuring power that rivals pneumatic. Performance is the same as the previous M12 Fuel ratchet models but now with an extended reach head.
An investment cast steel yoke housing and premium anvil materials provide a robust and durable solution to withstand shop and jobsite use. For added protection, optional rubber boots are available for both tools. These boots add minimal size and weight to the tool, and are made of durable, proprietary rubber designed to withstand corrosive materials commonly found in maintenance environments.

I have last year’s M12 Fuel ratchet. Now that I read this press release, I wonder:
1. Is the MOTOR itself rated for that amount of torque, or is that the actual torque being provided to the socket? The losses between the motor and head on the extended reach model have to be more than the standard model, yet they both have the same torque output rating.
2. What are the actual rated torque values with different batteries? Is the advertised torque only achieved with the higher Amp-hour XC battery? What torque is given with the smaller 2.0 A-h battery?
1. I doubt the added reach is long enough for any noticeable torque loss or any at all.
2. To my knowledge, only the Gen 1 M18 Fuel drill/hammer drill was rated to have any difference when using compact or XC batteries. Other than that, I haven’t seen Milwaukee give separate torque ratings for a given tool ever again when using different batteries. To answer your question directly, the images of these ratchets are all shown with a compact 2.0 battery and the kits come bundled with 2.0’s so the rated torque numbers should therefore be with 2.0’s. However with that said, I doubt there’ll be any difference in torque when using a larger XC battery.
