Bosch announces new heated gear with a new GHJ12V heated jacket and GHH12V-20 heated hoodie.

Apart from the new styling on the jacket, both new new heated jacket and hoodie have the back heating pad moved to the lower back. Bosch claims this is for “no chimney effect” saying that by moving the heating pad to the lower back prevents cold air from being sucked into the lower part of the jacket. I haven’t experienced this issue with my Milwaukee heated gear that has the heating pad on the upper back and I think it to be an odd placement to place the heating pad on the lower back but maybe Bosch is onto something. The other two heat zones are on the left and right chest for a total of three. The jacket has a total of six pockets which they say are more and larger than their current jackets. The jacket material is said to be water and wind resistant while the hoodie is claimed to have a lightweight fabric design for maximum comfort. Both feature 3 heating levels high, medium, and low and both come with a battery holder that also doubles as a USB power source to charge your mobile devices on the go with 2.1 amps. I did notice that as kits they come bundled with a much smaller charger, probably a cheaper slower model although no charge times were mentioned. They do come with a single 2.0ah battery when bought as a kit. Prices are $149 for the hoodie kit and $199 for the jacket kit.
