Ryobi announces 5 new Gen II 18V HP Brushless power tools including a drill and hammer drill, impact driver, reciprocating saw, and circular saw. Ryobi Gen II 18V HP Brushless 1/2″ Drill Driver PBLDD02K1
Ryobi HP brushless are their most powerful brushless power tools. This Gen II model follows that tradition being their most powerful drill to date. This is thanks to its powerful brushless motor pumping out 850 in-lbs of torque making it a high torque drill. Sure it doesn’t stack up to the high torque monsters with 1,400 in-lbs but 850 in-lbs is still a ton of torque. This drill actually comes in two variants, the drill driver shown here and also a hammer drill version shown next.
This drill is feature rich with a powerful brushless motor, 1/2″ ratcheting metal chuck like the one seen on sister brand Milwaukee drills, a two speed transmission with 0-700 / 0-2,150 RPM. In my opinion both of these gears are too high and should instead be around 550 RPM or lower in speed 1, and around 1,500 for speed 2. But no doubt they do this for window shoppers who look at paper stats and think more RPM equals better. It also features a 24 position clutch torque select collar and LED light at the base of the tool.
It will be available March 2025 and is priced at $159 as a kit with 4ah high performance lithium battery.

Thanks to its powerful brushless motor, this Gen II HP Brushless impact driver is their most powerful impact driver yet. It’s pumping out a rated 2,300 in-lbs of torque paired with up to 4,200 impacts per minute and 3,400 RPM. Ryobi says it’s 45% faster driving compared to their PCL235 impact driver model.
This model is also a 4 mode impact driver with 3 selectable speeds plus an Assist mode. The Assist mode helps to reduce screw stripping when driving or removing self tapping screws. The hex chuck allows for quick bit changes with one handed bit release. The die cast metal gear case for added durability.
It will launch March 2025 for $129 as a baretool.

Ryobi Gen II 18V HP Brushless 7-1/4″ Circular Saw PBLCS302B
Thanks to its powerful brushless motor, this Gen II HP Brushless 7-1/4″ circular saw is their most powerful circular saw yet. They claim it provides 3 times faster cutting than their PCL500 saw model. This bad boy sports a full size 7-1/4″ blade with full blade selection compared to the smaller selection of smaller blades.
The full size blade gives it full size cutting capacity of 2-9/16″ at 0 degrees and 1-13/16″ at 45 degrees. Bevel angles are easy bevel detents at 0, 15, 22-1/2, 30, 45, and 56 degrees. And also thanks to its powerful brushless motor, it can achieve up to 370 cuts into 2×6 pine with an 8ah battery. An LED light helps with cut line visibility and a rear dust chute and vac port help manage dust. The vac port accepts 1-1/4″ – 1-7/8″ hoses.
Features include a stamped metal base, with die cast metal upper blade guard for added durability. However the lower blade guard is clear plastic which isn’t as durable as metal. Don’t expect any exotic lightweight metals here like magnesium.
An interesting feature is that it has a built in rafter hook for easy hanging in between use.

Thanks to its powerful brushless motor, this Gen II HP Brushless reciprocating saw is their most powerful recip saw yet. They claim it provides 2 times faster cutting than their PCL515 saw model.
It has aggressive cutting with a 1-1/4″ stroke length with 0-3,200 strokes per minute so you can easily cut through wood, black pipe, rebar, hardened steel, and more. Up to 470 cuts into 2×4 pine when paired with a 12ah battery.
Features include a non marring pivoting shoe. Blade changes are easy with a blade release lever and built in LED light help with cutting visibility. A variable speed trigger so you can cut fast or slow depending on the situation at hand.
A flip out rafter hook helps for easy hanging in between uses. Rubber overmolding throughout for easy grip and slight reduction in felt vibrations.
