Ridgid 18V One Handed Reciprocating Saw

Ridgid is no stranger to one handed reciprocating saws as they’ve come out with several iterations. Their last one being the 18V brushless sub compact one handed model from 2022. This new model looks like a solid new model designed to fit a lower budget.
What is a reciprocating saw? It’s a portable saw with a small long blade that pushes in and out. Same as cutting with a hand saw but much faster and more aggressive. They’re great for demolition and cutting through wood, metal, pvc, and even eating through nail embedded wood.
These tools are compact and most are a two handed affair, though there are smaller even more compact models designed for one handed use such as this model. It’s biggest selling point is that it comes in at $99 as a baretool. With the lower price in mind, it had to make some sacrifices such as no brushless motor and not as compact as the sub compact brushless model but it still gets the job done with 3,100 SPM and a 3/4 inch stroke length. It’s also only $129 as a kit with 2ah MAX Output battery and charger.
I didn’t see any mention of a built in LED light but it does have a variable speed trigger and tool free blade changes. And don’t forget it comes with Ridgid’s famous limited lifetime warranty.
Expect it to launch May 2026.
