AEG 18V PROLITHIUM-ION SDS Plus 16mm / 5/8″ Compact 4 Mode Rotary Hammer BBH 18C

A new AEG 18V compact rotary hammer has been spotted and it’s the AEG 18V PROLITHIUM-ION SDS Plus 16mm Compact 4 Mode Rotary Hammer BBH 18C .

This is a nice addition to the AEG 18V line up and gives users a smaller more compact SDS-Plus rotary hammer. It has a max rated 16mm concrete drilling capacity which translates to 5/8″ and what’s interesting about this model is that it doesn’t skimp out on modes just because it’s a compact model. Traditionally, compact rotary hammers only had two modes with hammer drilling and rotary only. This goes above and beyond that with the same kind of modes you’d find on a larger model and also has hammer only (chipping) and a fourth mode to rotate bits into place for when used in chipping mode. It also comes with an included 1/4″ bit adapter so you can use this for driving applications right out of the box.

It doesn’t appear to feature a brushless motor as there is nothing on the tool body or description to indicate otherwise so it’s using a brushed motor design. Other features include a pistol grip design with ergonomics similar to a drywall screwgun and features an LED light for use in low light and a handy dandy belt clip.

No word on when or if it will make it’s way to the USA as a Ridgid branded tool, so we’ll have to wait and see if it gets announced by Ridgid.

A big thanks to reader Kevin for spotting and sharing!
