Bosch is adding a new set of Titanium – impact rated drill bits to their accessories line up.
According to Bosch these new Titanium Impact Tough Drill Bits are said to offer:
- 2x the life vs standard impact drill bits
- designed specifically for high torque impact drivers
- have split point tips for reduced bit “walking”
- rated for heavy-gauge carbon steels, while also providing precision drilling in light-gauge metal and hardwoods
- titanium nitrate coating offers cool running
I welcome the addition of these new bits and am glad they are impact rated, meaning that they can be used with impact drivers with the 1/4″ hex shank base. I like many users are using impact drivers more and more for drilling applications, that plus I like that you can easily swap out drilling and driving bits quickly due to the 1/4″ hex chuck on impact drivers.

Bosch Impact Tough Titanium Bits include a titanium cooling shield (titanium nitrate coating) for lower friction, less heat and longer life. They are manufactured especially for drilling in tough materials, such as heavy-gauge and high-carbon steel, regular metal drilling and hardwood applications. The bits have impact-rated shanks for greater toughness in harsh environments.
