Bosch SpeedXtreme SDS Max Rotary Hammer Bits With 100% Full Head Carbide Offer 5X Life

Bosch SpeedXtreme SDS Max Rotary Hammer Bits now come with tips that are 100% carbide. Thanks to this full head carbide tip, Bosch says these new bits will offer 5 times longer life span. They even put their bit head to head against the competition, literally and the competitors head snapped right off while the Bosch full head carbide tip was still intact. The video below shows their demonstration with their full head carbide SpeedXtreme SDS Plus bit however the features and benefit of this bit will apply to the new SDS Max bits featured in this article.

The new Bosch SpeedXtreme SDS Max Rotary Hammer Bits will come in a variety of sizes ranging from 3/8 – 1 inch and will be available July 2018.

Bosch premium carbide takes concrete drilling to the next level in Bosch SpeedXtreme™ SDS-max® Hammer Bits, the ideal solution for drilling in reinforced concrete thanks to a 100 percent full-head carbide tip. The bits offer 5x life in concrete and are optimized for maximum performance in larger heavy-duty rotary and combination hammers.

Bosch developed the SDS interface and is the only concrete bit manufacturer to make its own carbide. That’s the groundwork for delivering the toughest, longest-lasting bit for drilling in reinforced concrete and hard aggregate. Bosch has upgraded the proven long-life technology used in Bulldog™ Xtreme SDS-plus® bits to bring the widest range of 100 percent full-head carbide to the SDS-max interface.  NOW 5X Life

Bosch SpeedXtreme bits are full-head carbide up to 1″ diameter, double the size of competitive bits. And Bosch SpeedXtreme bits feature that full-head carbide tip in a four-cutter design, which offers 180-degree cutting diameter and 100 percent power transfer during drilling. In addition, four symmetrical 90-degree side angles create a wider and sharper tip versus competitive bits to aggressively cut through tough material like rebar.

SpeedXtreme bits are manufactured with Bosch’s proprietary diffusion-bonding technology, which bonds carbide and steel at a molecular level. It’s a precise high-heat, high-pressure solid-state welding process that produces jobsite-proven bits.

A four-flute design for SpeedXtreme bits makes drilling in concrete fast and precise. The four flutes aggressively pull dust away from the work, keeping the bit tip cooler for longer bit life. An active-centering tip is designed for quick, accurate starts and guides the bit through concrete, an important feature when setting anchors or fasteners. A wear mark on the bit helps users deliver the precision hole-diameter tolerance that concrete anchoring demands.

“Full-head carbide has proven its value in tough masonry and concrete applications, especially concrete with rebar,” said Andrea Molinar, product manager, accessories, Bosch Power Tools. “Now for the first time a full-carbide head design that’s been extremely successful in SDS-plus bits is available in heavy-duty SDS-max sizes. Bosch is giving concrete pros an SDS-max option they can trust for tough concrete jobs with the precision they expect. This bit is going to change the game in terms of long life and productivity.”

The full range of Bosch SpeedXtreme SDS-max Rotary Hammer Bits extends from 3/8” to 1″ diameter. The bits will be available starting July 2018.
