Craftsman has come out with a 20V 2.5 Gallon Cordless Compressor as part of their new 20V power tool line sold at Lowe’s.
The Craftsman 20V cordless compressor runs a 2.5 gallon tank for portability and overall looks very similar to Dewalt’s 20V 2.5 gallon compressor. No surprise since the Craftsman is made by the same parent company SBD. While the tank itself looks to be the same one used but with a red coat of paint, the rest of the tool has several differences to the Dewalt. For starters the Craftsman doesn’t have the roll cage design as the Dewalt and the motor mount and dials look different. The Craftsman has two dials, one for the tank PSI and the other for the regulator PSI plus regulator knob underneath.
Performance is slightly lower than the Dewalt as you’d expect at 125-max PSI and 1.0-SCFM at 90-PSI. The motor is brushless for added performance and runtime and is said to be able to run up to 700 nails with it’s included 4.0 ah battery. Also features an oil free pump and air release valve near the regulator knob and drain valve underneath the tank.
Price is $269 as a kit and includes 4.0 ah battery and 4 amp charger.
A big thanks to Cody Robertson for spotting!
