At last year’s world of concrete event Dewalt announced a new cordless Flexvolt dual handle paddle mixer and at this years 2019 event they showcased another cordless mixer with the Dewalt 60V Flexvolt Mixer / Drill with E-Clutch System. It comes as a model number DCD130T1 as a kit with one 6.0ah battery and charger for $349 and as model number DCD130B which is the baretool only priced at $219. No specific date was mentioned when they’d arrive but Dewalt did mention early 2019 so expect them out soon.
The biggest difference between this model versus last years is the form factor as it uses a more traditional single main handle drill design no different than your common drills instead of last years dual handle design. While this new model has one main handle, it does have a secondary handle that can attach to left, right and top sides of the drill. It also has a rear handle mount to accept an optional spade handle. It also features Dewalt’s E-Clutch system which is an electronic clutch that shuts the motor down in case the bit binds so as to not hurt you the user.
Other features include a 1/2″ keyed chuck with on board key, bluetooth tag mount and LED light. It’s a single speed drill / mixer with slightly slower RPM’s than last years dual handle model at 0-600 RPM and with a variable speed trigger to dial in the RPM’s. Runtime is good and according to Dewalt you can mix up to 9 buckets of concrete (4.5 gal) on a single charge using the 6.0 ah battery.
