Dewalt DCCS620P1 20V Compact 12 Inch Chainsaw

I am glad Dewalt started making outdoor power tools for their 20V line but with only 3 tools (string trimmer, blower, hedge trimmer) it was not a very complete lineup for yard maintenance. But now they have a new outdoor power tool, the Dewalt DCCS620P1 20V Compact 12 Inch Chainsaw.

A great step in the right direction for the 20V line to keep things fresh.

The new Dewalt DCCS620P1 20V Compact 12 Inch Chainsaw  looks great and looks promising with it’s impressive for 20V/18V specs. Just like their string trimmer and blower, it also features a brushless motor which I’m sure is the reason Dewalt was able to push the limit of 18V/20V chainsaws to achieve a 12 inch bar and chain. Most other 18V or 20V chainsaws are 10 inch or less. Dewalt achieved what Makita did in a 36V tool with their 12″ X2 chainsaw (although they’ve recently pushed out a newer brushless model with a 14″ bar and chain).

The brushless motor also sips battery juice as it has great claimed runtime of being able to do up to 70 cuts on a 4×4 per charge and 30 cuts on a 6×6 with a 20V MAX* 5.0 Ah battery.

This saw was spotted in Canada with a summer 2017 release date and $299 Canadian price. I have a feeling this saw will make an appearance here in the USA as well although no word on when and for how much but keep your eyes peeled.
