Harbor Freight Has Their Own Credit Card

I was browsing the Harbor Freight website and noticed a new banner at the top mentioning a new Harbor Freight credit card.

The new Harbor Freight credit card offers some pretty interesting perks which include no annual fee, 10% off first purchase with no exclusions and can combine with coupons including 20% or 25% off coupons. OR instead of 10% off first purchase you can choose 0% interest on purchases of $299 or more with equal monthly payments with 6, 12, and 24 month payment options depending on the amount owed (6 month $299-498.99, 12 month $499-1798.99, 24 months $1799 or more). After your first purchase, you can get 5% cash back in Harbor Freight money on all future purchases with no exclusions OR the same 0% interest on $299 or more with equal monthly payments as mentioned earlier.

What’s interesting about the no exclusions rule is that you can get the 10% off the first purchase or 5% cashback in Harbor Freight money on items that are excluded in the 20% or 25% off coupons. This means you can buy one of those spiffy new Icon tool chest or cabinet, or a Vulcan welder, or a Hercules power tool or any other tool that is excluded from the 20-25% off coupons and still get 10% off your first purchase or 5% cashback on all future purchases.

Cash back works with a points system, so you get 5 points with every dollar spent and you receive $5 when you earn 500 points. Cash back is considered Harbor Freight money and can only be used for future Harbor Freight purchases.

I didn’t see any mention of purchases outside of Harbor Freight so it appears it may only be a credit card to be only used at Harbor Freight and not a regular Visa, MasterCard type of credit card that can be used everywhere. This credit card is issued by Synchrony Bank.

They don’t offer the best interest rates with a Variable Purchase APR of 25.99% and minimum interest charge is $2. With such high interest rates, I suggest you pay this card as quickly as possible or use the 0% equal monthly payment options when possible if you cannot pay in full each month.

Keep in mind that all the above info is based on when this article was written and is subject to change at any notice so always consult with HF for the most up to date info.

What do you guys think of the new Harbor Freight credit card? Will you be rushing out to get one or not and why?
