So what makes the Helly Hansen workwear BRZ pants ideal for hot weather? They incorporate two features. 1 being that the fabric is less than 250 grams making for a lightweight fabric. We know that a thicker fabric keeps the user warmer so they try to keep it as light as possible for the sake of the user when the temps go up. The second feature is what they call “mechanical ventilation”. This is basically a zippered section midway through the pant that runs the outer side of the knee section. You open it up and it lets your legs breath, thus helping you keep cooler by opening up the pants. This section uses an interior mesh fabric that is highly breathable yet keeps the user protected to some degree from direct contact. This makes these pants perfect for when pants are a requirement on the jobsite and yet the temperatures are high. Of course if a more rugged set of workpants is required, users may want to look at other products that are heavier duty but will no doubt may also be warmer to wear.

Both BRZ men’s pants are part of the Chelsea Evolution BRZ collection which feature:

  • Cordura® fabric reinforcement on knees
  • 4-Way Stretch
  • YKK® zipper
  • Articulated knees
  • Hanging Pockets on Construction style
  • Modern fit

As mentioned before, the Chelsea Evolution BRZ pants come in a service pant and a construction pant. The service pants are a bit more muted and have more of a “straight to business” look. They do have cargo pockets on the outer lower thigh.

The construction pants feature hanging outside pockets and the ventilation opening also gains access to the knee pad pocket for easy knee pad placement and removal from the outside. The construction pants also feature an orange stripe on the front that differentiates them from the service pants. The service pants MSRP is $140 and the construction pants MSRP is $170.

Helly Hansen workwear will also release a women’s version of the BRZ pants and they will be part of the Women’s Luna BRZ collection. They feature a women specific fit that is durable, comfortable, lightweight, and breathable work pants. They will also feature reinforced knees and the construction pants will feature hanging pockets as well. The women’s Luna BRZ collection are said to be available in September 2022.

Women’s Luna BRZ Collection:

  • BRZ Concept
  • Broad center back belt loop for extra stability and strength
  • Gusset in crotch for freedom of movement
  • Reinforcement fabric at knee and bottom hem
  • Articulated knees for optimal mobility
  • Hanging pockets with double lined bottom and nylon webbing for durability on Construction style

I’m disappointed to see the young lady not wearing safety glasses. And, I question whether her hair is properly tied up.
