Irwin Vise Grip 8″ & 10″ Smooth Jaws Pliers Wrench IRHT82635 & IRHT82636

Irwin has two new smooth jaws Vise Grip pliers wrenches in an 8″ model IRHT82635 and 10″ model IRHT82636 .

The smooth jaws are designed without teeth so as to not damage fixtures with chrome or plated fittings. Great idea since it makes it easier to install something like a shower head, whereas I’ll usually wrap a small cloth around the fixture as to not damage the finish. With smooth jaws pliers like these, I wouldn’t need to wrap the fixture in a towel which would make work more productive in the long run. The GrooveLock mechanism is said to be design for fast and easy adjustment in confined spaces and the bi-material ergonomic handles are designed for comfort and control.

Irwin Pliers Wrench Features:

  • Smooth jaws help provide damage-free installation to chrome or plated fittings
  • Patented GrooveLock™ mechanism for fast and easy adjustment in confined spaces
  • Bi-material ergonomic handles provide more comfort and control
  • Replaces metric and imperial spanners up to 1-1/2” (38mm) with one convenient tool
  • IRHT82635 5/16”-1-5/16” (8mm-34mm) 8” / 203 mm
  • IRHT82636 5/16” – 1-1/2” (8mm – 38mm) 10” / 254 mm

I’m curious to see the competition that’ll come for the knipex pliers wrench now. I’m assuming their patent expired, given Irwin’s direct duplicate name for their product. My 4 knipex PW’s are always first in any hand tool box or bag I throw together lol Absolutely great tools.
