These boots not only help identify cables due to the different available colors but they help keep the connectors on the cable and help protect latches according to Klein Tools. I will testify that I’ve broken my network cable latches on several connectors that don’t have boots and this seems less of a problem on network cables that have boots. As shown above, Klein offers them in multiple colors and they come in a 100 pack for multiple cable runs.
