The tool looks like as though they removed the magazine from a nail gun. It is essentially a magazine that accepts collated utility staples and there is a large contact pin with which you manually strike with a hammer. This lays down each staple and gets them started as you still have to hammer them down further. It does make the entire process easier and more streamlined as the magazine and use of collated nails means you run less of a risk of accidentally dropping staples which can become a hazard, and it also makes it easier for the installer as you don’t have to manually hold each staple and thus lessons the risk of hammering your fingers in the process.
The magazine also pushes the next staple in place after each one is set so it’s always ready to fire the next staple. After watching the video, I noticed that the strike pin stays in the down position after each strike and there’s a tab that resets the pin so it’s ready for the next staple. The magazine can hold up to 35 to 40 staples which they say is enough to finish one pole installation. There’s also a built in ruler to help spacing staples. And there’s a D-ring for hanging and storage.
