Makita 18V BL Autofeed Screwdriver XRF03Z

Makita announced two new cordless products this week with one of those being the 18V LXT brushless Autofeed screwdriver XRF03Z.

These screwdrivers are similar to a drywall screwdriver but not only more robust and feature packed but designed for quick rapid fastening of a variety of sheet goods, not just drywall. Unlike drywall screwdrivers that have the collated magazine adapter as a separate piece, this model and others like it have it built into the tool. Traditionally these cordless models have been using brushed motors but this model utilizes a brushless motor for better power and efficiency. It can drive 2-3/16″ screws with impressive speed of operation using it’s brushless motor that allows for up to 6,000 no load RPM.

It has Makita’s slick Push Drive technology that allows the trigger to be pressed and held and the motor will only engage when you drive a screw, this helps cut down on unwanted noise and as an added side effect it provides longer runtime as well. Makita states you can get up to 2,250 screws with a single 5ah battery! Fastener depth of drive can be adjusted with a one touch wheel. And while the tool looks big and bulky, it only weighs 4.9 lbs with battery!

It comes out later this month July 2022 for $349 as a baretool.
