Makita 18V LXT Sync Lock Battery Terminal BPS01 Puts You In control of Your Batteries

Makita has a new 18V LXT Sync Lock Battery Terminal BPS01 that gives users the ability to lock out batteries. This is a feature that is designed to deter theft on the jobsite.

The lock out feature allows a Makita Battery to be disabled so that unauthorized users may not use the battery, and can be programmed on a schedule as to when they do and don’t function. You may even assign a password so that only select users to have access to the battery. Disabled batteries can be enabled at any time using the Makita 18V LXT Sync Lock Battery Terminal.

Basically the terminal is giving users similar functionality as other brands bluetooth batteries such as Dewalt’s Tool Connect bluetooth batteries, except that you don’t need to purchase special bluetooth batteries and you don’t need bluetooth at all since the terminal does all the fancy work. The only catch is that the terminal will only work with the newer Makita 18V batteries with the fuel gauge.
