Tool Craze was not paid by t he Company in question to write about its product or feature.

What makes their new direct repair service any different from their previous repair service? The new direct repair service features free roundtrip shipping and is done online and according to Makita is a “step-up from an already high standard of Makita service and repair.” Another benefit of being an online service is that you have access to repair status notifications without the need to call in. And without the need to call in, the online service is available 24/7.

The Makita Direct Repair service also has what Makita calls a new online app in which you can initiate a repair request and also print a Fedex shipping label and to check for status updates. I mention that they call it an app because I don’t see anything that suggests that you download an app for a mobile device. I visited their Direct Repair page using my PC and android phone and there is nothing suggesting or even hinting a downloadable app, at least not at the time of writing. So it appears that what they are calling an app, is simply referring to their Direct Repair online webpage. You can check out the Direct Repair page at https://www.makitatools.com/service/directrepair .

Makita is also running a special promotion to kick off their new online repair service starting from October 15, 2021 through November 30th, 2021 in which you get free labor. During this promotional period the labor cost will be free and you only pay for replacement parts. But after the promotional period, it goes back to normal and you are to pay for replacement parts and labor.
