Both jackets are designed with stretch polyester and have 5 heating zones with 4 in the front with two in the chest and two in the abdomen and one large heating zone across the upper back. They can fully heat up in 2.5 minutes and the interior lining is said to be a new lining material that optimizes heat transfer to the user. Both jackets also offer a new battery placement pocket with a pass through design so you can place the battery towards the front or the back and is located on the left side of the jacket as shown below.

Both jackets when purchased in kit form come bundled with a REDLITHIUM 3.0 ah battery which allows 50% more runtime than previous 2.0ah batteries and as before, they also offer 3 heating modes, low, medium, and high.

Where the two jackets differ is on what they are specifically suited for. The TOUGHSHELL jacket is your standard workwear heated jacket designed to withstand the abuse found on the jobsite with a claimed 5x longer life although Milwaukee didn’t mention if it’s 5x longer life than previous models or against the competition or both. The TOUGHSHELL jacket also is said to offer 80% more stretch although they didn’t mention if when compared to previous models or competing models. The stretch allows better mobility and flexibility while also being lightweight and comfortable. The TOUGHSHELL jacket comes in 4 colors in standard Milwaukee red, black, gray, and navy.

Where the QUIETSHELL jacket differs is that it is designed to be quieter with reduced noise from movement and is also water and wind resistant. This jacket features durable and lightweight carbon fiber heating elements and come in one outer design which is Realtree EDGE camouflage pattern.
